Email AddressResearch InterestsWith respect to psychology of religion
research, most of my work has focused on the religious orientation
constructs emerging from the Allport and Batson traditions (e.g.,
intrinsic, extrinsic, quest). In particular, I have attempted to articulate the links between these motivational constructs and religious group identity. Trained as a social psychologist, I am particularly interested in taking experimental or
quasi-experimental approaches to research problems whenever possible. I
have also been working on a new theory of the self most recently
that I certainly expect to have implications for religion, although the
data I have collectedthus far is extremely limited.
